Ryan sat at the piano, tinkling away lightly on the keys, playing some random notes haphazardly. After their debacle of Humuhumu on the stage a few days previous, Ryan and Sharpay had both voted it may be best to write a new song.
Secretly he had been working on a song, but he had been interupted by Sharpay's insistent cries for help, which he was glad he had not ignored, the thought of Zeke still made him cringe, but that was the past now.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket slowly, checking the time; he had texted her several minutes previous to meet him down in the rehearsal room. Knowing her, she would arrive fashionably late and fabulous as ever, he could see it no other way.

Sharpay, upon receiving a text from her boyfriend, started to glam herself up, putting on a little bit of make-up and perfume, as if she was going on a date again. She doesn't really know why he asked her to meet him, but she knew she had to prepare for him. Knowing Ryan, he's full of surprises. But even if she wasn't going on a surprise date with him, she just loves to prettify herself just for her man. She wore a purple tube top and jean shorts, and her shiny, purple Jimmy Choo platform sandals. The whole process took 10 minutes.
She excitedly went her way down to the rehearsal room, almost bumping into some of the staff because of her uncontrollable heels. When she finally arrived at the doors of the rehearsal room, she wiped her forehead off some sweats, before peeking in with a smile.
After checking that they're alone, she went inside and straight to where Ryan was sitting at the piano. She went behind him and leaned down, kissing him on the cheek. "Sorry I'm late, my Prince. You know me." She giggled lightly before kissing him on his temple this time. "We're gonna work on a new song?" She asked him excitedly after seeing a blank song sheet and a pen resting on the piano.

Ryan leaned up into her kisses happily, once again glad that no one dared to bother them during their two sacred times; warming up and rehearsing. He patted the piano bench beside him and then glanced at her cautiously. "Well, the tentative arguement is that, yes we are writing a song." He said happily, his eyes still darting to her softly. "But your choice in wearing that has made me wary. "
He chuckled lightly, and leaned to give her a soft peck on the lips. "It's almost as if you want me to help write the next Humuhumu." He said, raising his eyebrows at her. He let his fingers now roam the keys freely as he had before. "However, you do look beautiful today, so how can I complain too much, my princess."

Sharpay giggled as she gladly sat beside him on the piano bench, hooking her arm around his. "Well forgive me for wanting to look really good for my man." She gave him a wink, grinning her trademark flirtatious grin that is exclusive for him.
She returned the peck just as softly, smiling at him afterwards, then chuckling as he mentioned writing the next Humuhumu. "You know, I won't mind it at all." She leaned her head on his shoulder, still giggling. She watched his fingers create music on the piano, turning her head to him when he complimented her again, causing her cheeks to turn pink. She never got used to his praises, it always make her react in certain ways. "You know I only look beautiful today, because you're looking really gorgeous as well, my prince." She propped her chin on his shoulder, smiling at him.

Ryan turned his head softly to see where Sharpay was resting on his shoulder. "Well then, I say it's even." He smiled over at her and gave her another quick peck. "Our collected gorgeousness compliments one another quite well." His voice laced in slight sarcasm, giving her a playful wink.
His fingers came to rest on top of the keys softy, the remainder of the unheard music tinkling out from the underbelly of the piano as he sighed. "This is always the hardest part." He said in a slight groan, bringing his hand up to pinch the bridge of his nose. "I hate going into a song blindly," He shook his head softy, his eyes closed. "Do you have any ideas while I collect my jumbled thought?" He asked, turning his head towards Sharpay again, letting his eyes peek around the hand connected to his face.

Sharpay looked back at Ryan, her eyebrows furrowing and her lips pursing in thought as he asked for her ideas. Her mind drifted off to the songs she used to listen to lately. Lately, it was all about slow songs, romantic songs, even cheesy ones from their parents' generation that she never thought she'd ever listen to.
She turned her gaze back to Ryan, shrugging her shoulders a little. "I don't know, Ry. I mean, we used to perform fabulous numbers, full of not-so-easy choreographies. Do you think it's time for a change?" She asked him, her eyes suddenly twinkling in excitement at the thought of performing something new, something that is not typical of the Evans twins that would shock the audience.

Ryan dropped his hand from his face suddenly, he couldn't help but look at her in complete and utter shock of what she had just said. He pressed his hands lightly on the keys and started laughing. "You want to make a change?" He asked slowly, smiling at her the whole time.
His foot tapped lightly under the piano bench, the smile on his face turning into a full on smirk, he leaned his face into hers as closely as he could manage without fully touching her. "Nothing would make me happier." He responded flashing her another wink with a toothy grin. Ryan felt like he had been waiting his whole life to hear that suggestion, he had always wanted to take things to a lesser notch of intensity, but he felt the need to let her lead in almost all situations.

Sharpay grinned, while her finger played with a lock of her hair, twisting and untwisting it. "Well, yeah..." she said coyly. She knew she would shock him with that suggestion, and she loved that feeling. She giggled lightly, leaning her face closer into his, their foreheads touching.
"I think it's just proper to show everyone something new, since it's going to be our last year at East High. I definitely wanted to do something they would remember for a long time." She smiled at him, knowing this is what he wanted. "And this time, you're going to take the lead." She winked at him, giggling at the idea. "I wanna see you take charge this time, my co-president of the drama club."

Ryan looked off in pleasant thought of the idea of them differing from their usual, leaving their mark in a way they had never before. They would graduate East High back on top of their theatrical heirarchy, and they would have more friends when they did so.
"Well, my fellow co-president, I refuse to take the lead." He grumbled softly crossing his arms over his chest. "But," He started slowly, looking over at her slyly. "I think we could work together, as a team, hence the co in our titles." He smirked over at her, waiting for a response, hoping that they were working as a team in so many other ways, that this would be no different.

Sharpay smiled widely at the idea, instantly nodding her head in agreement. Working as a team would definitely be better. They'd have more excuse to be together, Ms. Darbus and their parents would definitely approve of it, completely oblivious to their hidden agenda just like before. Her eyes shone brighter than it ever did before as the idea started sinking into her mind.
"Alright, since you stressed the co thing, I'd gladly work with you, partner." She returned the smirk, before capturing his lips in a short but sweet kiss. "As long as you would remind me when I'm being controlling again." She said, smiling sweetly at him. "I really want us to work together, this time." She took his hands, giving them a gentle squeeze.

Ryan took her hands softly in his, squeezing them back just as she had done to his. He ran his thumbs slowly on top of her hands, looking down carefully, before bringing his gaze up again, a crooked grin dominating most of his face.
He broke one of his hands from hers and turned around fully to face the piano again. "You know," He started slowly. "I could write the music, and you could come up with the lyrics." He suggested, hoping she would agree, writing had never truly been his strong suit, but he could muddle through if asked. He wanted to use this as an opportunity to play to their individual strengths.

Sharpay's smile turned into a shy one when he asked her to write the lyrics. "Ry, you know what happens when I write the lyrics." She protested, slightly turning pink in the cheeks. "How about...we just contribute to the lyrics equally? Because, you know, I don't know how to start." She said, giggling. "Remember Humuhumu? I gave you the idea then you had to start that one. I just added the speaky part."
She rested her head on his shoulder, sighing. "How about you play some familiar songs first so we can get ideas on what to write?" She looked up at him, squeezing his hand again.

Ryan laughed lightly at the mention of Humuhumu, the last thing they needed was a repeat of that song, but he had the hope that if he played the piano, ideas would come to her, like popcorn popping. He gave her a light nod, and squeezed her hands again before setting his hands up in the propering fingering on the keys. He looked over at her and gulped again slightly, he knew exactly what song to play, it had been one of then first songs he'd learned on the piano when he was younger, and now he knew that the words spoke pure volume about how he was feeling. He tinkled along the keys and began to sing to her softly. youtube.com/watch?v=cQ6yUIPdFFU

Sharpay had never seen Ryan sing like this before, so heartfelt, as if he had written that song himself. Her heart swelled at the thought of him singing it to her, she couldn't help but smile so much, with her cheeks turning red this time, letting out happy sighs every once in a while.
When the song ended and Ryan had pressed the last key, she brought her hand up to his cheek and faced him to her, her lips smiling shyly. "That was beautiful," she said in an almost whispering voice, letting him know how he took her breath away.

Ryan smiled at her sheepishly, her hands cupping his face softly, he couldn't help but feel warmed by this simple gesture; all he had done was play a song to her. He loved how her eyes twinkled when she was excited, it was instant gratification to know that he made her feel this things.
"You said to play something familiar." He shrugged lightly, turning pink under her gave. "I figured that was familiar enough." He spoke softly, his cheeks fading into a slight blush. "I think it's a lucky song, dunno why." He added into a chuckle.
