Confessions (Chad and Bebe)

[cyelena]

Chad grinned as she took his hand. Finally! Some assertiveness! He squeezed her hand gently, just to show he didn't mind the action.

"I dunno," he shrugged. "We could always try to talk or something. Though," he added as a wicked afterthought, "we could skip right ahead to the good stuff and-" He cut himself off there. This kind of attitude had resulted in him being dumped in the past. And having seen Bebe's nerves earlier, acting like that would probably result in her passing out or something.

"Eh, kinda inappropriate. Why don't we play twenty questions or something? Get to know each other?"

[Bebe Tenko]

The good stuff?

Bebe was glad Chad cut off. She didn't want to know.

"Okay. Twenty questions. That sounds cool... all right, question one," Bebe began with a smile. Chad's hand was really warm for whatever reason. "...Favorite color?" Bebe dropped her head. "I am SO bad at this game..."

Chad shrugged. "Don't worry about it!" His favourite colour... Well, he liked lots of colours. He could try to sound cool and say black, but black was kind of boring. He wore a lot of green, but it wasn't his favourite. He definitely hated pink! Orange was pretty cool though, and so was red.

"May as well be true to my school, right? Red. Um... What's your favourite number?" To anyone else, it would have seemed lame, but to a basketballer like him, his number was important. It was like a lucky charm.

[Bebe Tenko]

"Hmm... any color works. I guess my favorite would be lime green, cause I have a lot of clothes that are that color..." Bebe shrugged. "I understand, though. You're probably in your uniform a lot, so red just looks normal to you... psychology."

Bebe smiled warmly. "I'm glad you didn't say, like, pink. I hate pink. Even though my hair is kinda pinkish... whatever." Bebe shrugged. "Okay... your turn. Question two!"

Bebe was enjoying this a lot. It was calm, nice, and, best of all, moving slow enough for her brain to keep up.

"Lime green. That's cool. I'm glad you didn't say pink either. I've been turned off it ever since meeting Sharpay in kindy. Not cool." He shook his head as if regretfully.

Chad frowned, trying to think of a question. He wasn't good at the whole deep and meaningful questions kind of thing. Besides, all of those questions required a level of knowledge of the person, so that you would know where the line would be drawn. So he decided that simplicity was the way to go. After all, the point of this game wasn't to make them soulmates. It was to see what the other person liked.

"What's your favourite season?" He finally decided, after wiping some sweat from his head. Summer most definitely wasn't his, no matter how much he loved baseball!

[Bebe Tenko]

"Well, I hate 'Seasons of Love'," Bebe joked, "but really...? I like the fall. It's not cold, but it's not hot - just warm, and nature's so beautiful and colorful, with the orange leaves and the autumn plants sprouting and those cute little weeds that look like cotton balls..." Bebe giggled. "I probably sound stupid, for liking weeds. But some weeds are pretty. No?"

Bebe couldn't help but say that. "What about you? You look like a spring kind of guy, but maybe that's just me."

Chad grinned widely, shaking his head. "I'm a summer dude all the way. No school. The sun. Baseball. No school. It's awesome. And I totally get a tan!" He looked at his arms and then laughed. "Well, an even bigger one!"

He pulled a face, trying to think of his next question. "Hmm... Where's your favourite food?" He couldn't help but pride himself on that one. By asking that, he would know places to take her out to eat, as well as he got a question. Chad wasn't as dumb as he made out to be!

[Bebe Tenko]

"Oh food," Bebe snickered, "glad we're getting to the important stuff here. I like most anything, but I guess my favorite food is... um..." Bebe thought. There was a lot of food out there. What did she enjoy the most? "Well, I love Mexican food. I guess my favorite is tortilla soup, but I don't know if I like enchiladas better... what about you?"

[cyelena]

"Well, I'm supposed to say some of the stuff that makes you healthy but pfft!" He snorted. "As if!" He messed with his hair a bit, letting the air breeze through it. "I guess I like pizza. And chips." He shrugged.

"I'm a guy. I'll eat just about anything. And lots of it, usually. Your turn!" He told her, squeezing her shoulder. She was quite comfortable to do this to. Just the right height. Cool.

[Bebe Tenko]

"Hmm..." Bebe liked that Chad was squeezing her shoulder. Probably a bizarre thing to admit, but it was so true. She wasn't quite sure what to ask, partly out of fear that any second, Chad wouldn't like what he saw and run away.

"Do you read comic books? Because I read a lot... some online, some in print. My favorite one is online... Penny Arcade, it's a gaming comic. Then there's manga-like stuff, like Shaman King, Eyeshield 21, Tokyo Mew Mew, Gentleman's Alliance Cross... and early Megatokyo... I'm babbling aren't I?" Bebe turned red. Great. Already babbling.

"Oh, like Pokemon and stuff! I totally loved Dragonball when I was a kid. That stuff was awesome!!" He said, grinning. So she liked comic books. That was pretty cool. "I never heard of the other stuff though. Me and the whole reading thing, even if it does have pictures, just never fits well. You'll have to show me some one day though."

"Hmm, my go. What kind of music do you like? R'n'B is pretty mad, and rock music. It sounds totally lame, but old rock music, like ACDC. But that's just my favourite. I like just about everything." He nodded his head to an invisible rhythm. "So yeah... your favourite type of music?"

[Bebe Tenko]

"Anything but gangster rap," Bebe agreed. "I can't stand gangster rap... it's all 'I went to the club and I shot a guy and I danced with a girl and get down'... ugh." Bebe made a disgusted face. "Ew ew ew. ...Do you like watching cartoons? I do... I think I'm skewed that way."

[cyelena]

"Cartoons are really cool. I'm such a kid. It's cool that my girls a kid too. I dunno which ones I like the most, because I don't watch them as much anymore. But nah, they're awesome."

He laughed at Bebe's interpretation of a gangster rap. "That's pretty much right, but seriously, there's some cool gangster music. Too bad some bad guys ruin the reputation of what can be totally awesome music. Or... talking with tune, as Taylor put it once."

Oh, damn! Never ever mention the ex-girlfriend like that. He just hoped Bebe didn't notice his slip.

[Bebe Tenko]

"Yeah, rap used to be really good," Bebe noted. "My dad let me listen to some eighties rap... it was amazing. Now everyone seems to have a preoccupation with rhyming words with 'bitch'. And all the titles are basically the same. 'Smack That', 'Drop That', 'Hit That', 'Tap That'..."

"Well, cartoons I love... my favorite though is probably... 'Family Guy'." Bebe suddenly inhaled quickly. "Oh God, you probably think that show's offensive, like my mom."

Bebe shut up quickly, musing not only on what she'd just said, but on this Taylor girl. Emma had told her that Chad used to be going out with Taylor, but Bebe hadn't met her... ever, as far as she knew. Was he so uncomfortable that he mentioned her in a moment of weakness? Or was he just like Bebe, and losing his train of thought?

Chad had no choice but to laugh at her opinions about rap. Yeah, she was pretty much correct for that one! Thank god she wasn't asking him about Taylor. He didn't mind talking about it, but it would be rather weird if they did.

Instead, he returned to her reference of Family Guy. "Oh, that's a pretty mad show. Totally love the baby. Uh... Hewey?" He gave her a weird look. "Why would I find it offensive? You're talking to me here!" He laughed. "Give me South Park any day." He looked off, pretending he was offended. "I cannot believe that you just compared me to my mom. Totally not cool," he said just under his breath, but loud enough for her to hear.

Then he shot her a winning grin to show that he wasn't being serious. She'd have to learn that Chad Danforth was never serious about anything.
