Ever since Sharpay and Ryan got together, all she had wanted to do besides spend a lot of time with him doing things couples do, is make friends with his new set of friends...which is none other than the groups she used to despise (with the exception of Troy Bolton, of course), the Wildcats.
But she was determined to make peace with them this time. She'd do anything to make Ryan happy, and she knows being cool with his friends would be one way to do it. She decided she would start with the hardest Wildcat to please, the star player's right hand, AKA Chad Danforth. She was gonna do this without Ryan knowing. She wanted to surprise him.
She kind of felt bad for having to use her Evans power just to get Chad alone, but there was no other way to do it. She ordered for Fulton to get Chad as her caddy...this way, she could talk to him one-on-one.
She stood by her pink golf cart by the golf course, already clad in her sparkly pink and white golfing outfit as she wait for her caddy for the day.

I need a car... I need a car... I need a car... Chad told himself as he slowly made his way towards the golf course. He almost found himself wishing he was waiting on Sharpay, instead of caddying for her. She was dangerous. He'd once used the analogy that she was like a mountain lion; that suddenly seemed to be a perfect description of her. How on earth was Ryan related to someone like her?
Oh god, she was wearing pink again. After working at Lava Springs for what felt like an eternity, he decided that he officially hated that colour. If he saw it ever again after getting back to school, he would probably find himself turning a lovely shade of green. How could people wear it and not get sore eyes?
"Good..." was it morning or afternoon? Fulton had told him his watches were inappropriate, so he wore none "day, Miss Evans," he said, trying to keep the stiffness from his voice. He needed the money... He needed the money... Oh man!!

Sharpay turned around and smirked just as she saw the Chad Danforth greeting her like how a true Lava Springs staff should. She motioned for him to come closer with a wave of her hand. "You're late, you know. I've been standing here for..." she checked her silver watch, counting the minutes since she arrived there, "10 minutes exactly now, Chad." She decided to address him by his first name, this would be a proper start to a friendship she was hoping to happen soon.
"Oh and do call me Sharpay, I prefer it that way. Miss Evans is just so last week." She grinned as she said it. She pointed at her clubs. "So, shall we begin?" She asked with a smirk on her lips.

"Yes... Sharpay." As much as he hated to be calling her 'miss Evans' Chad had to say it was easier to call her that, at least in a place like that. It made her seem less normal, and really, Sharpay was anything but normal. And as much as he hated to put her on a pedestal, at least putting her there made her further away. "Sorry Sharpay," he said, not really feeling all that sorry at all. The less time with her, the better.

Sharpay softly sighed, seeing that her efforts to make peace weren't appreciated. She started thinking of other ways to get closer to him, but she was starting to panic, thinking that doing this is making him feel more annoyed with her. She nervously ran a hand on one of her braided hair and took a deep breath.
"Chad," she started, looking at him, her eyes showing how serious she is, "there's a reason why I asked you to be my caddy." She said, looking down at her white shoes.
"And no, it's not because I want to ask you out," she added quickly with a point of a finger, before she started to freak him out even more, making him think that she was doing the same thing she did to Troy, to him.

"Thank God," he muttered when she told him it wasn't because she wanted to ask him out. That would just be way freaky. It would be like... No, he didn't even want to think about it!
"Uh, then why did you ask me, Sharpay?" He asked, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. And it certainly wasn't a nervous excitement. This was almost nervous terror!

Sharpay bit on her lower lip, and turned her gaze back to the green grasses. How could she ever tell this person that she wanted to make friends with him, without arising any suspicions? She sighed, and then took another deep breath. It was as if she was doing her warm ups subconsciously.
She turned to look at him again, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink. She had never felt this embarrassed before, at least not in front of any of their schoolmates. "Look, truth is...I wanted to make peace with you." She said, breathing out heavily. She turned her head away from him again, suddenly feeling afraid to see his reaction.

Good god, was Sharpay... blushing? It hadn't suddenly become cold, so why was she blushing and... asking to make peace with him?
"Dude... That's some pretty heavy stuff! Why on earth would we be friends? We've like, hated each other since preschool!" He used hand gestures to show what he meant. "I'm a jock." He gestured to himself. "You're... queen of the world. It just doesn't happen. Troy and Gabriella are just..." he searched for the words "freaks of nature."
What had happened here? He was getting peace requests, love confessions, and... There had to be something in the water here or something. Everyone was going crazy!

Sharpay closed her eyes tightly as she heard his reaction. She had been expecting it, but she had never thought of how she would react. After he was done talking, she let out a deep breath again, slowly opening her eyes to look at him.
"Look, Chad...I know this has been going on since preschool, but everything changes, right?" She waved her arms wildly, emphasizing how everything has changed over the year. "See, even you had changed. I know you had sworn to yourself that you wouldn't be caught alive performing on a stage, but what happened at the talent show?" She looked at him, hoping he wouldn't see the hopelessness in her eyes.
But a smile formed slowly on her lips when she remembered something that she thought she needed to say. "You're a great dancer, by the way."

Chad stopped up short on any further rant he had. Why did everyone continue to say he was such a great dancer? It was kind of weird.
"Hey now, the talent show was different," he said, his tone gentler, but still firm. "I only did that because of Ryan. Because I made him promise not to put me in tights," He shuddered at the thought. But really, if it hadn't been for Ryan he wouldn't have done it.
"This isn't the talent show. It's like, you and me. Friends?" He raised his eyebrows and pulled a face. "It just would work. It'd be like trying to mix..." He struggled to think of the term that Taylor had used before they'd broken up "Water and... uh..."

"Oil." Sharpay ended the sentence for him with a sigh. She shook her head, crossing her arms over her chest. "So, are you saying you wouldn't even give it a try? Us being friends, I mean?" She started to smirk, as an idea popped in her head. Chad Danforth is known for not backing out of a challenge. Now she knows what bait to use.
"I mean, you and Ry are friends now, but see...Ry and I aren't that different," she said, grinning. "If it was that easy to make friends with Ryan, how can it be hard with me?" She asked him, raising her eyebrows a little. "Are you that afraid of me?" A smirk was tugging on the corners of her lips.

Chad glared at her. She was baiting him and... damn it, he was rising to it! Stupid competitive streak... He sighed in frustration, ruffling his hair. The non-existant breeze was doing little to cool him off.
"Ok, Sharpay, I'm not saying we can't be friends. I'm just saying it would be highly unlikely. But how are you and Ryan not different? For starters, he's a boy." Way to go, Captain Obvious. "And he isn't... pink!"

Sharpay rolled her eyes, and tapped her foot in impatience. "He can be pink, if I tell him to." She said with a smirk, putting on a show of the bossy older sibling. "Ryan is my male counterpart. Really, isn't that obvious? We're twins!" She waved her arms wildly in the air, she must have looked like she's drowning or something. All for the added dramatic effect.
"And so what if I'm a girl? You mean to say you're afraid of girls?" She let out an evil chuckle, taunting him even more. She knew she's almost there, he would take the bait, for sure. "Chad Danforth is afraid of girls?!"

"Huh? What? No!" Chad protested, getting defensive as soon as she questioned it. "How can a ladies man be afraid of girls?!" He laughed mockingly. "No really, it's just you who I'm afraid of." As soon as he said that he realised he shouldn't have said that. "Well, I'm not scared of you I, uh..."
He stopped and then said, "This is why we couldn't be friends, Sharpay! Ryan is the good twin, and you're the pink, girly thing who insults my mascul- uh, manness!" He crossed his arms over his chest and glared at her again. He was using up his glare quota for the day in the space of ten minutes. This girl was so annoying!

Sharpay feigned a shocked look on her face. "You? Afraid of moi?!" She pointed at herself for emphasis, a laugh creeping up on her throat. "Oh my god, Chad!" She smacked his arm, laughing really hard this time. She couldn't believe she's enjoying this torture.
"Look, I'm not messing with your masculinity, and yeah, I admit you're kinda a ladies' man, so I'd never question your 'manness' unless it's really questionable." She said, smirking as she shook her head lightly. "Anyway, how about we make a deal about this friendship thing? Unless...you really are afraid of me," she again raised her eyebrows at him, subtly challenging him.
