"I don't think I've played Levitation since, like, third grade," Kelsi said jokingly. Although, she reflected, it didn't really seem like a Sharpay-type of game. But this was Brand-New Improved Sharpay, wasn't it? Old Sharpay never would have deigned to invite a non-Sharpette to her sleepover, especially not Gabriella. Come to think of it, Sharpay and Gabriella had been acting like best friends all week. Kelsi was seriously starting to like this new Sharpay.
"But don't worry, Sharpay," she assured her. "It's totally cool. And if you get freaked out, we can stop." At least, she thought they could. She had been serious when she said she hadn't played it since third grade.

Sharpay breathe out a sigh of relief when Kelsi reassured her that they can stop anytime. She smiled gratefully at her. "Thanks Kelsi." She said.
She took a deep breath as she placed her fingers near Emma. "So...I guess we can start now." She still had a look of fear in her eyes, although the excitement is more visible.

"Aww, Kelsi, you're making me seem so juvenile!", Gabriella said, mock-hurt, and pouted her lip. She turned to Sharpay and said, "Nah, don't worry Sharpay, besides I don't think Ryan would mind at all if you did wake him up", Gabriella said, winking at Sharpay, hoping she read between the lines.

Sharpay giggled at the double-meaning statement of Gabriella. "True, he's so used to it." She winked back, knowing she'll know what she mean. "And don't worry about being so juvenile, Gabriella. It suits your outfit." She giggled even more after saying that.

"Ha-ha, very funny, Sharpay", Gabriella said sarcastically and smirked, as she looked down on her PJs.
"What? They're cute!" Gabriella exclaimed when the rest turned to stare at her clothes.

Emma wiggled on the floor unpatiently. She was getting anxious.
"Are you guys ready yet?" Emma smiled again at them, her eyes still shut.
She wanted to see if this would work again. It had worked when she was younger, but now she wanted to see if it could happen again. She kept smiling, as she waited for the girls to circle around her and play.

"Fine! Let's do it now for Emma." Sharpay announced when she noticed the impatience on her Sharpette's face, re-placing her fingers again near Emma.
"So...Gabriella. I guess you should start this." She said. She was getting anxious as well, thinking if this would really work.

Gabriella closed her eyes, and breathed in and out, as if performing a mantra, or whatever you called it. "Okay".
"So, let's all get in a circle as I said, around Emma. Now, let's hold our hands first", Gabriella instructed, eyes still closed. "We have to feel...the connection!" Gabriella exclaimed, it was obvious she was really feeling the game.
"Now, we all put our fingers under Emma, using these to lift her up. Remember, we cannot use our palms; that's the whole point of levitation." She ordered, and everyone else followed.
"Now, we close our eyes, and together we're going to chant, life as a feather, stiff as a board." Gabriella peeked in a little from her right eye. "That clear? Okay, I'll start, then everyone else follow after, we have to be reeeeaally quiet", Gabriella added, emphasizing the word really.
"Light as a feather, stiff as a board". "Everyone else do the same", Gabriella said solemnly.
"Let us slowly raise Emma up, as we continue to chant. Light as a feather, stiff as a board, light as a feather, stiff as a board", Gabriella chanted.
Light as a feather, stiff as a board Gabriella closed her eyes tighter, as she began to feel a different presence around her, like wind had suddenly passed through her, leaving goosebumps on her skin.
"Whatever happens, do not break the concentration!" Gabriella ordered, as she continued to lift Emma up. "Light as a feather, stiff as a board."
Gabriella could not deny, she was feeling scared already. This only used to be an innocent game, with candles only added for effect. But this time it was different. But on the bright side, it added more thrill.

Sharpay felt goosebumps rising on her skin as they continued to chant. She never expected this to work, but who knows? She hasn't played this game before, since none of the Sharpettes suggested it.
Suddenly she started to feel scared at the sudden breeze. She knew her windows are closed, so there's no way that the wind would come from there. She was fighting the strong urge to scream.

Emma had her eyes shut so tightly. She felt this aura around her, as she felt herself slowly being lifted off the ground. A slight fear took over her, as she realized her body was no longer at all in contact with the ground. This seemed like harmless game when she was younger, but now it seemed more....creepy.
She tried to tell herself it was just a game, but she couldn't help denying the fact that she felt a heavy force pushing her up underneath her. She clenched her hands into tight fists and she bit her bottom lip to keep herself from screaming at the other girls to stop. She didn't want to be the "whimp" that stopped all this.

Sharpay slowly opened her eyes and when she saw that Emma was actually off the ground, that's when she finally lost it. She let out an ear-piercing scream, as she jumped up and ran around her room like a little girl.
She ran towards the connecting door and banged on it repeatedly. "RY!!! RYAN!!!" She kept on calling on her poor, sleeping brother.

Bebe threw herself out of bed, unlocked the door, and looked into the hall.
"For the love of God, WHAT is your problem?!" Bebe demanded, wrapping a robe over her lacy lingerie-like pajamas. Then she recognized the girl. "Sharpay Evans?"

Sharpay looked at the familiar girl with a frightened look on her face. "F-f-f-float...t-t-t-t-true..." she stuttered at every word, pointing at her room. "E-e-e-e-em-m-a..." She was sure she was close to fainting any minute now.

Bebe gasped, all pretenses forgotten. "Oh my God, Sharpay, get into my room and lay down. NOW." Bebe tried to peek inside of Sharpay's room, but she didn't see a thing.
