Bebe sat in the rehearsal room, can of paint remover by her side. Hopefully this worked for the poor Sharpette. She didn't mean to cause her any trouble... even if she thought the Sharpettes were terribly annoying, that didn't make them bad people.
Bebe twisted a finger through her short hair. "I need a gun... to keep myself from harm. The poor people... are burning in the sun..."

Emma starred down at her paint-covered costume. She felt a wave of tears coming, but she didn't want to cry in front of this girl she just met. Especially since she was trying to help her. Emma looked at the girl.
"Do-do you think this is really going to work?" Emma sniffled slightly to keep the tears from coming out. Oh god, if she ruined this, she knew she was going to hear it from Sharpay. These costumes were very expensive and made especially for the Sharpettes for the dance number. Sharpay told them not to get anything on them, and here she was, covered in blue paint.

"I'm positive, don't worry, Sharpette girl," Bebe snickered. "If I can get crystal violet off of a lace bikini, then I can get paint out of a mermaid outfit." Bebe smirked at the girl. "I'm Bebe, by the way. Bebe Tenko. Senior next year at East High, set designer for Darbus, techie for Matsui. And you?"

Emma sighed and was relieved when she heard that the paint would come out. She was glad that Bebe suggested she change out of her costume first, because she did not want to be in it when she was using that pain remover on it. Emma changed into a pair of pink pajama shorts, and white tank top. At least she was comfortable while she watched Bebe work.
Emma smirked when Bebe called her 'Sharpette Girl.'
"I'm Emma. I'll be a senior next year too at my high school." Emma smiled, as she sat down next to Bebe.
"So you do set design? That's cool. I've only acted on stage, not done the behind the scenes stuff. I'm guessing you have to do a lot of quick thinking when dealing with the sets." Emma said nodding towards her costume.

"Oh yeah," Bebe responded. "Everything needs to be painted perfectly, and if it isn't, you tell. I guess you could call me a perfectionist." Bebe shrugged. "So... Emma. Do you do anything besides follow Sharpay around?" She applied the stain remover gently, trying not to loose any sequins.

Emma chuckled at Bebe's last comment about Sharpay. She knew she should probably be offended, but just the way Bebe said it, made her laugh.
"Yeah, I actually do have other things I do besides following Sharpay. I mean, I idolize Sharpay and want to be like her, so I follow her around a lot to get a feeling of how I should act. But I do like to get massages, get my hair done, swim, hang with friends...and I really like to write. I got a journal and my first entry, I just re-read it the other night, and it was so...not me. My journal should be an expression of my true feelings, and I wrote about such petty things. I want to discuss other deeper things..."
Emma thought, and then realized she might be opening too much to this girl, for just meeting her.
"Yeah, deeper things like, what does Sharpay do when she's faced with a challenge? Or what color nailpolish should I paint my toes during winter? Stuff like that..."
Emma said trying to cover her tracks of possibly saying too much.

Bebe rolled her eyes. The paint was coming off in strips - very good. The outfit could be saved. "Yeah, right. You're afraid of opening up to me." Bebe suddenly looked into her eyes. "We're exactly the same."

"We're afraid of letting people in," Bebe explained. "I mean, I'm sure it's for different reasons... your mom isn't yakuza," Bebe frowned. "But you're afraid of what people will think, aren't you? If you say your mind, you might be shunned by Sharpay... or so you think. I mean... I'm afraid of what everyone thinks of me." Bebe shook off a shiver and removed another large stripe of paint.

Emma nodded and realized how this girl saw right through her act. She began to wonder if most people saw through it, but just never told her.
"I guess you're right. I've always been afraid to maybe express myself. I just want to belong so bad, and I want to be as popular as Sharpay, but I just don't think I have it in me." Emma sighed, wishing she really did have it in her.
"So why are you so afraid to to know what everyone thinks of you? I sort of know what people think of me. Dumb blonde with nothing important to say, but inside I know it's not true. It's just my facade I think I put on."
Emma shrugged slightly.

"My mom's a Japanese gangster. Not legit at all. I think a lot of people believe that I'm really evil and a delinquent because of it. I'm really not... but the fact that everyone thinks it makes me hide from everyone. Even the guy I love." Bebe sighed before the last of the paint was off. "Welp, it's done. See? Good as new!"

Emma nodded as Bebe made her last comments, and became suddenly intrigued when she mentioned a guy she loved. Emma giggled slightly as she thought of this girl having the hots for a guy Emma probably knew. She really wanted to know who it was and talk to Bebe about it like girls usually do.
Emma looked at her costume and almost burst into tears of happiness. Bebe had really fixed it! Emma was so overcome with gratitude, that she just grabbed Bebe and pulled her into a tight hug.
"Thank you! Thank you so much!"

"Actually no, but it sounds interesting. Maybe we could hang out sometime and you could show me."Emma suggested and smiled at Bebe. Then she thought of something else.
"Maybe we can also talk about this boy you are in love with..." Emma winked and laughed slightly. She wanted to know the full story of Bebe's love interest.

"Sure. How about tomorrow, in the lounge? They have an AV room, and I have a ton of videos that just... just rock." Bebe's smile slid downward after she said that, though. "But I'm just not sure if I can talk about who I like, Miss Emma, I'm sorry. I've never told anyone."
