Ryan's whole body seized when she squirmed into his lap, and even though it was slowly turning to twilight it was as hot as it had been at midday in the scorching sun. He could help but let out another groan as he pressed her close to him, longing to feel like this forever.
He felt her grab tightly to him, both of them teetering dangerously on the edge, threatening to plummet into the water below them with every movement they made. "I need you." He muttered in a tone of pure seduction, his eyes closed as he let his lips guide their way along her perfect skin.

Sharpay could not describe the feeling when her body was pressed close to him. She could feel his heart beating for her, and it brought her pure joy.
She roamed her hands on his back, and as Ryan said those words, she felt shivers down her spine.
I need you.
Sharpay looked at him, the fire still in her eyes, but there was something else in there. She was ready to surrender herself to him, to give him all of her, but one part of her mind warned her about taking things too far. This battle in her mind caused another confusion.
Her body suddenly tensed.
Am I ready?

Ryan saw the look in her eyes and halted his actions, he looked at her knowing the look in her eyes, he was having some of the same thoughts, and his brain kept telling him not to rush regardless of what his body was telling him. It had to be right.
He looked at her and then lightly rested his head on her shoulder trying to catch his breath. "Look, we can stop here, I'm fine with that." He said his breath stinging in his chest. He looked earnestly at her and sighed, his eyes fluttering open and closed as he started to breath again properly, coming to his senses slowly.

Sharpay nodded at him, but she avoided his eyes. She felt like she had disappointed him, and that was the last thing she wanted to do to him.
As she caught up with her breathing, she sighed. "I'm sorry, Ry..." she said, her voice so small like a child who's scared of the dark and was left alone in her room at night.
"Please don't hate me," she begged as she faced him to her, and then looked down at her lap. She just couldn't face him.

As Sharpay nodded, Ryan nodded in unison, not looking her in the eyes, he didn't want her to think that she had some strange voyeur, pervert of a brother. He stole a glance at her, but decided it be for the best if he just collected his breath and thoughts.
The sound of her voice made her seem so vulnerable, and it was true he had seen this side of her before, but seeing her in this context was different, he couldn't help but feel he needed to jump in and protect her, from anything and everything that could cause her harm and pain.
"Please don't hate me,".
His eyes snapped up at those words, he grabbed her hands and gave her a feeble smile, her gaze averted from his as she spoke softly. "Shar, do you really think so little of me to think I'd hate you, do you think I'm some type of hypocrite?" He asked wondering what had caused her such doubt.
"When I told you I could never hate you, I meant it." He said staring at her face intensely.

Sharpay was taken aback by the intensity of his stare. Her vulnerability has a reason. The truth is, most of the guys she had dated before had thought they could get what they want from her, and whenever she declines, that's when they started to leave her. Of course she had never told Ryan about it. She always say that she was the one who broke it off. That's why she had to act cold outside their house.
"Ry, I believe you. I really do," she said, staring back at him. "It's just that, I thought it's always like that...when a girl backs off, the guy leaves." She said, looking away from him. "I know you're different from them, no one else comes close to you, but I just can't help but feel afraid."
She doesn't want to cry again, her eyes were already tired. She just sighed as she gently placed her hand over his. "I'm sorry about doubting you, Ryan. I swear I will never doubt you ever again. I trust you." She said gently, looking him in the eyes as she showed him her sincerity.

He looked at her sympathetically. "What do you mean about the guy leaving?" His eyes were filled confusion as he looked at her. "Any guy who leaves you is an idiot, who would leave you, If anything, the guy wouldn't be... worthy of you." He said still shaking his head in confusion.
He cradled her lightly in his arms, she was still sitting in his lap, his rested his chin on her head and sighed. I trust you.
He just kept cradling her, rocking her back and forth. "I'm glad I have your trust, everything else is just a perk." He said into her wet hair, kissing her lightly.

Sharpay smiled so warmly. She always loved how Ryan can make her feel so special. She leaned her head on his shoulders, closing her eyes. She wished this night would never end.
"It's hard to believe that I couldn't see, you were always there beside me..." Sharpay sang softly. She smiled as she remembered the song clearly in her head. And only now does she realize that the song is perfect for her and Ryan.
She took his hands and gave them a gentle squeeze, as she buried her face into his neck.

Ryan felt a slight tingle when she smiled warmly at him, he was wondering how he ever could have gotten this lucky to feel like this, to feel this much love.
He couldn't help but grin like a fool when Sharpay sang his favorite line of their song, it held so much more meaning now. "Thought I was alone with no one to hold, but you were always right beside me." He sang back softly.
Her soft hands took his in a gentle squeeze, he reciprocated her gentle touch and let his head flop lightly over onto hers, which was pressed into his neck lightly. He felt his eyes close slightly, the smile never leaving his face.

Sharpay lightly giggled when she heard Ryan sang along. She never thought that they could sing this song as romantic as it should be, as Kelsi wanted it originally.
She sang along once again this time with Ryan, her voice gentle and it was nothing like what East High had heard from her so far.
"This feeling's like no other, I want you to know..."
She loved how their voices blended so perfectly, just like how they're perfect for each other. She never thought that she could sing a song straight from her heart.

Ryan let the sound of Sharpay's giggle wash over him, he loved the way she laughed, it was something that most other people never got to hear from her, just harsh words and stern glances. He knew differently, she was perfect for him, and that was all that mattered.
"I've never had someone that knows me like you do,the way you do." He continued to sing with her softly, never realizing how perfectly they harmonized without trying too hard. He laughed inwardly when he realized that in a way, Kelsi had gotten her way, the flash and pizzaz gone, just the words and the performers, just as it was meant to be.
He understood now why it had been Troy and Gabriella, and not Sharpay and Ryan who were listed on the marquee, it all made sense now. love

"I've never had someone as good for me as you, no one like you," Sharpay felt her heart dancing along to the perfect melody she and Ryan were creating. She lightly tapped his nose as she sang the last word, making herself giggle once more.
"So lonely before, I finally found what I've been looking for..."
The words of the song had never spoken so clearly to her until now. She suddenly wondered if Kelsi wrote this for her and Ryan exclusively, but then again, she had no idea.
She listened to the echoes of their voices in the cave, and sighed at how beautiful it sounded. If only East High could hear them, they would probably forget about Troy and Gabriella.

Ryan chuckled as she poked his nose lightly, her small fingers tickling him ever so slightly with every touch. As the song winded down he couldn't help but think that those words were a stunning testament of the moment, and of their lives. Kelsi had known them their whole lives, had she known something they didn't. If only they had listened when she pleaded they sing it much slower, things might have been different.
Ryan sighed and let out a slight yawn as he sat in silence the only sound in the room now were the sounds of the water gurgling lightly and their rhythmic breathing. He kissed her once more on the head, another yawn spilling over. "I love you." He muttered, smiling into another delicate kiss.

When Ryan yawned, Sharpay could feel herself yawning as well. She smiled at the thought that even in these small actions, they're still moving as one.
She closed her eyes as he kissed her on the head, cherishing the love that only Ryan can make her feel. She just knew in her heart that this is love, not just physical, not just an infatuation, but real love.
"I love you more," she said, smiling as she felt another kiss coming.

Ryan shook his head lightly as another yawn overtook him. He pulled her closer to him and mumbled into to her ear, his lips just out able to tickle her skin. "I love you more-er." He added in a whisper, laughing slightly as he sighed, knowing that he was going to have much more stamina.
