Ryan held Sharpay's hands tightly, he smiled at her in the dark, slowly running his thumbs along the tops of her hands. "It's okay, I'm used to it by now." He mumbled softly, he had always had the strongest of feelings that Vance and Katherine Evans had not wanted twins in the first place, he was extra.
He smiled at her in the dark, he couldn't help but do so, she always knew how to much him feel better, regardless how much he protested, he couldn't stay surly for very long. He ran his hands up her arms, trying to find her face in the darkness. Once he was certain he'd mapped out her position well enough in his mind, he leaned forward and captured her lips in a soft kiss.
"Thank you," He muttered after breaking the kiss, still smiling at her, hoping she understood how grateful he was to have someone on his side.

Sharpay could feel Ryan's smile warming up the entire dark room. That was all she wanted at that very moment; to make him smile, to remind him of his worth, to let him know he is loved just for who he is and not for what he has achieved, something that their parents always forget to do. From that moment on, she swore to herself that she would fill the hollow space in him that was originally meant for their parents to fill. She will be his everything.
When she felt his hands along her arms and up to her face, and when his lips found hers in the dark like he knew exactly where it is, she knew she had done her job right. She returned the kiss gladly.
"I'll be at your side, always." She said as an answer to his thoughts. "That's what I'm here for." She traced his arms with her hands up to the back of his neck, bringing his lips back to hers once again.

Ryan leaned over further into the kiss, inwardly smiling, more or less at the irony of the night. While his parents sat at the table, oblivious to the world, their teenaged twins were making out in a nearby closet. No matter how much he wanted to make his parents proud, he didn't see this happening in the long run, not when or if they ever found out who his girlfriend was.
They certainly let him be a writer after that, not that Ryan saw his life going in that path anyway. Ryan broke the kiss and started to trail small kisses along her neck, knowing full well he wouldn't be able to touch her in any way that mirrored this for several hours.
He broke the kiss suddenly, trying not to laugh, but he couldn't help it, he kept his lips hovering close to hers, knowing full well that she was busy thinking some of the same thoughts.
Ten bucks says mom is on her second glass of wine already

Sharpay was trying her hardest to not giggle, and moan, as loudly as she wanted to when Ryan trailed kisses along her neck. The last thing she wanted was someone passing by in the hallway to get curious upon hearing the noises she was making. She just wanted to enjoy the moment, knowing that it wouldn't have an encore soon as long as they're at that dinner table and at their parents' sight, not that they care anyway.
When he broke the kiss and laughed, Sharpay couldn't help but laugh with him, knowing well what exactly he is thinking at that moment. Oh, the irony of the night.
And I say dad is on his third.

Ryan pressed his forehead against hers, smiling and laughing all at then same time, he placed his hands on her hips lightly, there was so much he wanted to tell her, but at the same time, it would have been superfluous, she knew all the thoughts that rushed around his head, whether he wanted her to or not.
He let out a sight sigh. "We have to get back to the table, they won't notice we're gone, but the waiters just might," He looked around slightly. "And plus, considering I don't know where we are precisely, I don't feel like getting caught today."

Sharpay let out a sigh as well, they would have to get back to reality soon. She nodded gently, while her forehead was still pressed against his. "Right. We should."
She tilted her head upwards for a quick kiss before reluctantly pulling her hands away from his neck. She couldn't help but giggle as she straighten her dress. She listened for any footsteps along the hallway and when she was sure there was none, she slowly opened the door and peeked outside. After checking if the hallway is clear, she quickly got out and pulled Ryan out of the closet as well.
When she turned to look at him though, she giggled once again. "You've got lip gloss on your lips." She said as she looked at his lip gloss-stained lips, care of her of course.

Ryan smirked lightly as he wiped his lips on his sleeve, he smiled at her, he was very thankful that she'd checked, the last thing he needed his parents thinking was that either he was gay, or he liked wearing make-up. One more thing like that from Ryan and Vance Evans might just die.
He flattened his hair slightly, his fedora slightly askew from being stuffed inside a closet for the past couple minutes. He looked carefully around the hallway, making sure none of the staff was coming by. Once he was certain the coast was clear, he stole one final kiss and then backed away, winking at her slyly.
"You have to go back first, they might not notice we were gone, but if we come back together, they'll at least assume we were together in some respect." He said sadly as he nodded off to the dining hall. "I'll see you in a few." He said with a weak smile as he leaned against a nearby wall.

Sharpay nodded at him. "Alright, but you better come back after thirty seconds. Don't make me miss you." She said, grinning. She waved at him, flirtatiously, before going back to the direction of the ladies' room in the dining area. Then she fixed her hair, before strutting towards their table again.
"Sorry I took so long. Jackie, Lea, and Emma saw me on the way to the ladies' room, and you know how excited those girls can get upon seeing moi." She smiled proudly at her parents. She then looked at the empty seat beside her, putting on a confused look on her face.
"Where's Ryan?" She asked innocently, complete with a straight, emotionless face.

Ryan smacked his head against the wall, the sound of the thud counting out the seconds. 21,22,23, he thought as each thud echoed through the hall, staff now staring at him slightly, knowing that it was not polite to stare at any of the Evans, but it was also not normal to see the youngest Evans doing things like that.28,29,30
Ryan grabbed a napkin off nearby tray, pretending to wrap up his injured finger. He strode back into the dining hall, trying his best to mute the smile on his face, his face flushed red slightly. "Sorry, sinks were crowded," He said as he held up his feign wrapped finger. "So what did I miss?" He asked with a beaming smile, slumping into his chair beside Sharpay, brushing her hand lightly with his, smiling innocently at his parents.

Sharpay had to suppress the grin that was forming on her lips, knowing that Ryan had used the same excuse from 3 years ago, yet again. She laced her fingers with his, while putting on an annoyed expression on her face.
"Finally! Now we can order." She said in mock annoyance, rolling her eyes and waving her other hand for added effect. She looked at her mom, waiting for her to call the waiter again, while she teased Ryan with her fingers.

Ryan shot a sneer at Sharpay, feigning utter disgust with her. "Sorry," He said, his tone exaggerated as he threw his free arm up. "We can't all be perfect." He stated putting as much sarcastic emphasis on the word as possible.
He looked off out the window in a slight huff as he kicked off his shoe, dragging his socked foot along her bare leg, teasing along her thigh while looking as innocent as could be.
He put his hand up in a fist to cover his smile, thinking about all the fights that had been seriously held at this table over the years, even five years ago, they would have had to sit on opposite sides of the table, the reproaching glances of their father watching them like a hawk while they tried to kick each other under the table.

Sharpay suddenly jumped and squealed at the feeling of Ryan's foot on her leg. Her eyes were wide and her mouth hang open. She surely got the attention of their parents this time, but not at the way she had expected.
"Um...I just, um...remembered something..." she stuttered, her face flushed. She took a glance at Ryan, sending him a quick playful glare. "It's nothing." She shrugged, even before her over-reacting parents could ask.
Oh, you're really gonna get it!

Vance and Katherine both jumped slightly in their seats, as Sharpay let out a squeal. Vance held up the menu, so his face was covered. He needed more time to cool off after the little argument about Ryan's future. He just didn't want to lose it again. He knew how important this dinner was to his wife, and he wanted it to be a somewhat pleasant evening still.
A short man with jet black hair stepped over to their table, and quickly refilled the wine glasses of both Vance and Katherine. It was known that they enjoyed fine wine with dinner, and they hardly ever went without.
Katherine grabbed her glass and took a few large sips, which turned into her finishing the whole glass and started to feel much better.
"So, I hope that we can continue this very special evening in a pleasant manner. I want you both to know that your father and I love you very much."
Katherine smiled at her children, and suddenly felt her head get slightly dizzy. She kept grinning, and started to even laugh a little bit. She grabbed Vance's hand, which made him put down the menu and look at his wife.
"Vance, dear. What do you think we should do about tonight?" Katherine slightly slurred her words
Vance shook his head, and rolled his eyes slightly.
"You never could hold your wine once you went past 3 glasses."
"Now darling, don't say that. You know I'm perfectly fine. Anyways, I just think that maybe you and Ryan should make up. I don't want my two favorite men mad at each other." Katherine pouted a signature pout. It was definitely who Sharpay learned to master it from.
Vance sighed. He never could say no to his wife, even when she was almost drunk. Vance extended his hand to Ryan.
"Son, I'm sorry. How about you and I discuss this at a later time when we aren't in the presence of these two beautiful women. Then we can talk it out like real men, and see where it goes from there."
Vance and Katherine, who had a drunk smile on her face, looked at Ryan with a new found hope of maybe working this out for both sides.

Ryan was trying his hardest not to laugh at his lush of a mother, it was well known fact to anyone who attended the Evans' annual Christmas party that Katherine Evans liked her wine, really liked her fine wine.
Ryan continued to run his socked foot along Sharpay's leg, they were such a dysfunctional family, they almost deserved their own reality show. People would tune in and laugh at their antics, he could just see it now.
Ryan snapped back from his daydream when he heard his father speak, he looked at him seriously, giving him the same appraising look that his father had given him only moments before. He smiled a crooked and took his father's hand, at least he was willing to talk it out as men.
Ryan gave him a nod. "Like real men." He said happily.

Sharpay kept shifting on her seat. Ryan was torturing her real good. She was trying her hardest to keep from blushing and giggling. She suddenly felt the need to get him back, so she crossed her leg over his, brushing his legs this time.
She smiled though when her father and Ryan decided to just talk it out some other time, "like real men". She heaved a sigh of relief, and smiled at her already slightly drunk mom. She shook her head gently as she picked up the menu, holding it up to her face so that their parents couldn't see, while she gave Ryan a wink as she moved her leg upwards.
