Sharpay let out a slight sigh of relief when she heard what Ryan had ordered. Everyone knew he was a fast-eater, anyway. But for her, this could seem like a challenge. She gave him a slight smile, acknowledging his thought, before turning back to the table.
As the waiter double-checked their orders, Sharpay let her foot play with Ryan's again, kicking him lightly to make him take off his shoe. This time, she swore to herself, she would control her squealing.

When Ryan felt the soft kicking of Sharpay's foot against his, he blushed ever so slightly, pulling his fedora over his eyes, giving her a sidelong wink as he kicked off his shiny black shoes for the second time that night. This time he would be successful, they were going to practice this to a fine art, just because he couldn't touch her over the table didn't mean he should be barred for good.
He slowly moved his foot to her the bare part of her lower leg and began to drag it slowly along her calf as he took slow sips from his water, pretending to fuss with the silverware nearest his hands, showing intense interest for everything occurring outside the window, when in truth he was focused on one thing in the room with him.

Sharpay wished she also wore hats just like Ryan. It was a perfect cover up, as demonstrated by him. She bit on her lip, trying her hardest to control her smile. When she saw the glass of water in front of her, she took it with a slightly shaking hand and started taking small sips, hoping it would help in cooling her down.
She took a sidelong glance at Ryan before placing her other hand on her lap, slightly pulling her dress up to the middle of her thighs. She was trying her hardest to suppress the grin that was forming on her lips.

Ryan had to remove his hands from the glass, in fear that he would spill it on the table. His hands slowly found his pants again, slowly wiping the beads of sweat from his palms. While he was in utter turmoil inwardly, his face looked calmer and cooler than before, except for the slow blush that began to creep around his ears.
It must be the heat, That would be his excuse if anyone asked him, he was thankful for once for the sweltering Albuquerque soon that had heat that loomed well into Twilight.

Sharpay was impressed at the fact that Ryan had actually managed to look calmer than before. Those acting workshops must be paying off. She, on the other hand, is also trying to make her face look calm and composed, but the smile on her face is like a give-away.
So to hide it from time to time, she continued to take small sips of water but the problem was it was almost empty. Her eyes rested on Ryan's glass, then she looked at him as if asking for his permission to take it.

Ryan smirked lightly when he caught her eyes and glanced over at her empty water glass, he gave her a light nod, disguising his chuckle in a light laugh as he let her take his water. It was almost fun to feel as if he was in full control again, maybe just maybe they could hold up this rouse under the watchful eyes of everyone they knew.

Sharpay quickly took his glass, smiling gratefully at him. She didn't want to call the waiter now to refill her own glass, she wouldn't want him to see what she was showing Ryan. She smirked at the thought, before starting to take small sips again, winking slyly at him.

Vance looked over and saw a old golfing buddy of his, and nodded at him. The gentleman waved for Vance to come over and chat for a bit. Vance nodded back, and turned to his family.
"Excuse me for a minute." Vance scooted out of his chair and walked over and began to chat with his old friend.
Katherine watched Vance the whole time he walked away. Her mouth hung slightly open, as she checked him out while he walking. After turning back to the table, she took another large gulp of her wine. It was almost gone, and she really felt another would be a great idea at this time. She looked at Ryan and Sharpay and noticed they were definitely thirsty.
She leaned closer to her children over the table.
"Would you both like some wine? I can get you both some. I know the owners here!" Katherine winked dramatically and burst into a loud laugh at her attempt of a joke.
She waved for the waiter to approach the table, and shouted across the dining hall, yet again.
"Bring three glasses! My children are having wine too! We are celebrating life tonight!" Katherine whooped, and laughed more as she really was having a celebration tonight. It was just very clear she was the only one attending this celebration.

Sharpay's eyes widened. "Mother, are you serious? We can't drink." She said, shaking her head. Although her teenage mind had been curious about drinking, she wouldn't want to do that in front of her mother. She'd prefer it with a certain someone instead.
She looked at Ryan, amusement visible in her face. She couldn't believe how drunk their mother is. Maybe they should stop her now, but then again, it's an advantage. She couldn't notice their weird behavior now.
She grinned at Ryan, wondering what his next move would be.

Ryan exchanged glances with Sharpay, he took off his fedora and rest it on the table, running his hands nervously through his hair. He looked at his mother sympathetically, she looked like a very happy, drunk deer caught in headlights. He noticed the haze in his mother's eyes, she was no longer in the conversation with them. "Look Shar, she's going to order three glasses whether we drink them or not, in fact if we don't drink them, she will." He said with a slight snort. "It might just be best if we let her order them and hope that dad takes her away before she hurts herself."
Ryan couldn't help but be intrigued by the idea of drinking, he was 17 after all, the thought had crossed his mind once or twice, but he'd never been openly tempted like that and he was unsure of what to do. For once in his young life, Ryan Evans was going to roll with the punches and see what happened.

Katherine hummed slightly as she swayed back and forth in her chair.
"Isn't this music divine?" she asked. It was clear Katherine was imagining the music because Kelsi had stopped playing 30 minutes ago. Katherine's mind was so overcome with the alcohol, that she could almost barely comprehend anything, but she was still enjoying her time tonight with her family. She glanced over at Vance who was still talking. She smiled at her husband, and then looked at her children. She could see their lips moving, but she could barely understand what they were saying. She realized she hadn't been this drunk since last year's Christmas party when she was sneaking drinks in the kitchen. Katherine started to giggle slightly realizing how drunk she was, and she was not ready for this party to end.
The waiter brought over three full glasses of Katherine's favorite wine. One glass was placed in front of her, and the other two in front of Sharpay and Ryan. Katherine reached for her glass, and held it up to make a toast with her children.
"To Ryan and.... uh..." Katherine couldn't believe she was forgetting her other's child's name. She decided to just roll with it, and see if they wouldn't notice.
"To Ryan, and blondie over there.....the best kids any mother could have asked for!" Katherine clinked her glass against Ryan's and Blondie's and took a large swig.

Sharpay's mouth dropped open when her mother actually forget her name, calling her Blondie instead. "RY!!! She is so drunk!" She tugged on Ryan, with her eyes still widened in shock at her mother forgetting her name.
She placed a hand on her forehead, shaking her head gently. Ugh! I wish this dinner would be over...now! It was pretty embarrassing for the people to see her mom, the owner of the prestigious country club, so drunk. She just hope she wouldn't do anything far more embarrassing than these, at least not when she and Ryan are still there.

Ryan let out a loud laugh, slapping his hand to his mouth, as his mother forgot Sharpay's name, calling her Blondie; which in his oppinion was the most suitable pet name he'd ever heard and he was going to make sure to use it from now on. He left the glass on the table eyeing it lightly. "It might be best if we don't drink, at least not while she's around." He said nodding at his mother. "If I'm going to get like that, I want to be somewhere that almost no one can see me." He said still laughing, knowing that his mother wasn't in any immediate danger.
He looked over at where his dad was standing, he was now all the way across the room from them, probably pleasantly oblivious to his wife, and all the actions she was trying. "Maybe we should get dad to take her to bed or something." He whispered again to Sharpay, his eyes shifting to his mother who was still swaying to the imaginary music.

Sharpay nodded in agreement at what Ryan had suggested. That way, the dinner would be finally over, and she can be alone with Ryan. She looked at the glasses of wine and grinned at the thought. Maybe we should bring this up later.
"I guess I should call dad." She said to Ryan, grinning. "Oh and don't you dare call me Blondie!" She pointed a finger to him, knowing what he was thinking.
She got up slowly and went over to their father, tapping him lightly on the shoulder.

Vance chuckled at his friend's joke, when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. He turned to see Sharpay standing there looking up at him.
"Oh hello princess!" Vance greeted Sharpay, and then turned her to face the group of men he was talking to.
"Gentlemen, I'd like to introduce you to my beautiful daughter, Sharpay. She has accomplished so much. I'm very proud of her." Vance smiled down at her.
"Is there something you need, kitten?" Vance asked his daughter with concern in his face.
